Highlights

The October issue of “LUX” is online. The article “Sports stadium high lighting standards for HDTV”, on page 8, shows that the lighting of a new generation major stadiums, where important events like international cups and olympic games take place, must meet the most demanding requirements of high-definition television, as well as adjustable lighting scenarios for training, games, shows and TV-broadcasting. See on page 10 the article “Feasibility of replacement of fluorescent lamps by LEDs”, in which the retrofitting of the lighting system of a single family dwelling is analyzed. Simulations, projections and experiments show that economy can reach 63% of energy consumption, with return on investment in approximately 4,5 years. Read on page 15 the article “Technology brings economy in lighting”, based on a study about the benefits of investing in public lighting projects with LED technology: savings of up to 70%, reaching 80% when combined with management and smart control systems.
