The November issue of “Hydro” is online. The article “Inactivation of Giardia cysts using ozone”, on page 14, bringing the results of a study that evaluated the presence of Giardia spp. in two Water Treatment Plants in Campinas, country side in Sao Paulo State, which proves that the contamination of sources for public supply is a problem in the urban polluted areas, being Giardia spp. one of the most frequent parasites. See on page 24 the article “Technology in the management of water use and consumption”, showing an smart system that is able to measure in real time the volume of water available in homes, informing the periodicity of water supply and the most frequent days and times of the lack of supply.
