Highlights

The January/February/March issue of “Hydro” is online. The edition highlights the special coverage “Reuse in industries”, on page 14, showing that, with the recovery of the economy started in 2018 and promising to accelerate this year, industrial water reuse projects are already beginning to be resumed. The news is good and means that not even the crisis that has affected the industrial sector in recent years has been enough to make companies rethink their strategies to rationalize water use. See on page 22 the article “Technology non-intrusive clamp-on ultrasound”, presenting the main aspects of measurement of non-invasive flow by clamp-on ultrasound. Recent developments have solved their previous problems regarding performance and reliability, making the technology suitable for numerous applications in the water treatment segment. Furthermore, on page 42, the article “Gray kitchen water treatment for non-potable reuse”, features a gray water treatment system composed only of effluent from the kitchen sink, for purposes of non-potable domestic reuse. The analyzes showed the effectiveness of the solution, particularly on small scales. This issue brings also the update “Valves”, “Chemical and biological products for water and wastewater treatment” buyers’ guides and “Engineering, contracting & service companies” directory.
