Highlights

The September issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “How to get the most out of the physical properties of plastics”, on page 20, shows that because materials react automatically and likewise to environmental stimuli, designers can take advantage of these effects to construct buildings in the future with functionality similar to nature and create components with optimized functions, consuming less material and energy. See on page 32 the news “Cable for underground lines may increase the demand for resins and additives”, about the recent announcement of replacing overhead by underground lines in São Paulo city, which could give new drive to the whole chain of wire and cables, with gains for suppliers of resins and additives. Read on page 46, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the package industry), the report “Ice cream packaging on the go has a new IML label”, about an ice cream maker, a packaging manufacturer and a label producer who were responsible for the development of an ice cream packaging with integrated scoop cover and a new technology in mold label (IML). This issue brings also the news “Equipment, materials and service providers of 3D printing” and “Gas injection units” buyers’ guides and the updated “Additives and fillers” and “Blow Machines” buyers’ guides.
