Highlights

The October issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The report “Grafeno, a material waiting for partnerships”, on page 12, shows the characteristics of graphene and the Brazilian network of research institutes dedicated to studying it. Many of them have application development cooperation programs, with the plastics industry as a potential partner. See on page 20 the article “Formulation and manufacturing outsourcing, an alternative for plastic converters”, showing that contracting for formulation and manufacturing services is an option for companies facing tasks for which they are not adequately equipped. Read on page 40, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the package industry), the article “Packaging with augmented reality”, which shows that an apple producers is now using a line of flexible polyethylene bags that allow the visualization of virtual sound animations through mobile communication devices. This issue brings also the update “PET bottles - raw materials, additives and preforms”, “Thermoforming machines” and “Filters and screen changers” buyers’ guides.
