Highlights

The August issue of “Plástico industrial” is online. The preview “New edition of K, a watershed for the plastic chain”, on page 42, shows that the world's largest event in the plastics sector will open its doors this year with attention focused on proposals for the resolution of environmental liabilities, one of the biggest challenges in the segment today. See on page 18 the article “Recycled films give rise to polymers with virgin material characteristics”, a case study showing that solvent-based recycling is a method located between the mechanical process and the chemical recycling done in reactors, and may mean an alternative for the revaluation of plastic waste by midsize companies. Read on page 52, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the package industry), the report “Software evaluates how much packaging is recyclable”, showing that a German company, with a manufacturing unit in Jundiaí (SP), has made available on its website the EasyD4R tool, a software that evaluates the recyclability of packaging based on its composition and the individual weight ratios of components such as vials, caps, labels, etc. This issue brings also the new “Bioplastics” buyer’s guide and “PV engineering and technical services companies: design, installation, consulting etc.” directory, and the update “Injection molding machines” and “Mold blasting and cleaning machines” buyers’ guides.
