Highlights

The August issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “Method determines the need for reactivation of recycled plastics”, on page 20, brings a study whose central theme is the use of analytical methods and procedures that determine the need to use additives to stabilize recycled materials. See on page 28 the article “How bioplastics can contribute to the storage of CO2”, which deals with the use of bioplastics in durable goods, applications in which their greatest appeal is present: the environmental one. Read on page 44, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the packaging industry), the news “BOPP films approved for contact with food”, about a supplier of bioriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, with a commercial office in São Paulo (SP), which recently received FSSC 22000 certification (Food Safety System Certification) – international standard that determines safety requirements for consumer health regarding the consumption of foods that have direct contact with flexible or rigid plastic packaging. This issue brings also the update “Recycled resins”, “Hot runner systems” and “Purging agent” buyers’ guides.
